Voice and Chronic Cough

Please book if you are experiencing the following:
- Problems with your voice such as losing your voice or your voice sounding different than before
- You have been diagnosed with a vocal cord paralysis
- Your ENT recommends voice therapy
- You experience chronic throat clearing and/or cough
- Your Respirologist recommends breathing retraining


Swallowing Assessment

Book if you are experiencing the following:

- Difficulty chewing
- Coughing or choking when eating and drinking
- Sensation of food getting "stuck"
- Pain when swallowing
- Problems managing saliva (ex. drooling and/or choking on saliva)
- Disinterest, isolation related to eating or drinking

Erica is a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) who provides services in English. She completed her Master’s in Speech Language Pathology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Before pursuing her Master’s, Erica completed her Bachelor of Cognitive Science with a concentration in Cognition and Psychology at Carleton University.

Sara is currently a student in the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of Ottawa. Before beginning her graduate studies, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at Concordia University, after first earning a DEC in Child Studies at Dawson College.

She is currently completing her last internship placement at Key to Speech through the University of Ottawa, continuing to build her clinical skills and gain hands-on experience supporting children and families.

Brigitte is the owner of Key to Speech and registered bilingual (French and English) Speech-Language Pathologist. She completed her Masters Program in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Ottawa in 2017. She is dedicated and motivated to helping children and their families reach their communication goals. Brigitte particularly enjoys working with late talkers, young children (< 4 years of age) who have been diagnosed with Autism, speech sound disorders, language delays/disorders, and reading and writing delays/disorders.

Brigitte has always wanted to work in healthcare while incorporating her passion for horses into her work. In her spare time, she enjoys going for walks with her family, playing piano, and horseback riding. She loves training her horse Cabella who will soon become Key to Speech’s first therapy horse. Jessica is a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) who provides services in English. She received her degree from St Lawrence College and before pursing the CDA program, Jessica completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language and Disability Studies at Carleton University. During her studies, Jessica had the opportunity to complete one of her field placements at Key to Speech, where she fell in love with the atmosphere, colleagues, and the clients.
